Orient Mako 40 RA-AC0Q02L30B Navy Automatic Diver Watch

A$520.00

Availability: In Stock

The Orient Mako 40 RA-AC0Q02L30B is the smaller, everyday version of Orient’s sports diver: a navy sunburst dial in a 39.9 mm steel case, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and 200 metres of water resistance. It is not a Kamasu / Mako III (those use F6922 in a ~41.8 mm case). This reference is the Mako 40 generation, running Orient’s in-house F6722 automatic with hand-winding and hacking.

If you like the Kamasu look but want a shorter lug-to-lug and a lighter bracelet on the wrist, this is the one to compare. The navy dial, silver-tone luminous markers and unidirectional dive bezel read as a proper tool watch, not a dress piece with a rotating ring. Shop it alongside other Orient divers and the wider Orient watches Australia range.

Why this Mako 40 works

39.9 mm across, about 46.5 mm lug-to-lug and a 20 mm steel bracelet is an easier fit than the older 42 mm Mako and the current Kamasu. The sapphire crystal is the right call on a 200 m sports watch you will knock on desks and door frames. F6722 is Orient’s compact automatic: 22 jewels, 21,600 bph, roughly 40 hours of reserve, plus a date window at 3 o’clock.

Use it as a daily beater that can still go in the water. 200 m with a screw-down crown and unidirectional bezel is swim, snorkel and recreational dive territory. It is not a dress watch; for that, look at a Bambino / Orient Classic. For the larger sapphire diver in the same family, see the Orient Kamasu.

Mako 40 versus Kamasu

Search results often mix this SKU with RA-AA0819N19B and other Kamasu codes. Different watch. Mako 40 is 39.9 mm, F6722, 20 mm lugs. Kamasu / Mako III is about 41.8 mm, F6922, 22 mm lugs. Both are sapphire 200 m divers on steel; pick by wrist size and how much bezel you want in the design.

Frequently asked questions

What is the water resistance of the Orient Mako 40 RA-AC0Q02L30B?

200 metres (20 bar), with a screw-down crown and screw-down case back. That is suitable for swimming, snorkelling and recreational diving when the crown is fully screwed in. Rinse after salt water. It is not a saturation or professional dive instrument.

What movement does the RA-AC0Q02L30B use?

Orient caliber F6722: Japanese automatic with hand-winding and hacking. About 40 hours of reserve, 22 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour. It is not the F6922 used in the Kamasu / Mako III line.

Is the Orient Mako 40 a good everyday watch?

Yes, if you want a compact steel diver. Sapphire, 200 m rating and a steel bracelet make it tougher than a leather dress watch. The 39.9 mm case and ~46.5 mm lug-to-lug sit more easily on smaller and medium wrists than a 42 mm Mako or a Kamasu.

Does the RA-AC0Q02L30B have a sapphire crystal?

Yes. Mako 40 uses sapphire over the dial. That is one of the main upgrades versus older mineral-crystal Makos.

How does Mako 40 compare to Orient Kamasu?

Same job, different size. Kamasu is the larger 41.8 mm F6922 diver with 22 mm lugs. Mako 40 is 39.9 mm, F6722, 20 mm lugs. Both are 200 m sapphire steel divers. Choose Mako 40 if you want the slimmer sports case.
