A cream-dial Bambino Version 2 with blue hands

The Orient Bambino FAC00009N0 is a second-generation dress watch with a cream dial, not a white one. Blue hands cross Roman numerals at the even hours, including IIII at 4, and silver-tone stick indexes at the odd hours. The date window is at 3. The dial prints ORIENT, Automatic, Water Resistant, and Japan Mov’t. It is the cream sibling of the white-dial Version 2 references, including the rose-gold-hand FAC00008W0.

Older copy on this page said the watch had been upgraded to an F6722 and then listed F6724 in the same breath. The movement is F6724. F6722 belongs to other Bambino generations. This update removes that mix-up.

Who it suits

The case is 40.5 mm across and 11.8 mm thick, which is the compact Version 2 size rather than the later 42 mm Bambinos. Lug width on the listing is 21 mm, which matches retailer spec sheets. A separate band-width field on this product says 22 mm, and the page also sits in a 22 mm strap category. Those two figures disagree, so the description uses 21 mm and does not repeat 22 mm as a measured fact.

The photos, including the case-back shot, show a black crocodile-embossed leather strap with contrast stitching, a light lining marked genuine leather, and a buckle stamped Orient. Some overseas catalogue pages list a brown strap for the same reference. This page describes the watch in these photos. The strap-colour filter still says Silver, which does not match the photos and was not changed here.

Water resistance is 30 metres. That is rain and handwashing, not swimming and not the shower.

Movement and case

Calibre F6724 is an Orient in-house automatic with hand-winding and hacking. Power reserve is about 40 hours. Jewels are listed as 22, at 21,600 vibrations per hour. The crystal is domed mineral glass, not sapphire. The case is polished stainless steel with a fixed bezel and a push-pull crown at 3, with no crown guards.

The case-back photo on this listing shows a solid steel back with a small Orient medallion, not an exhibition window. You cannot see the movement without opening the watch. A stored lug-to-lug of 46.8 mm was copied from a different reference, TAC0000AB0, so it is not quoted here.

Common questions

What movement does the Orient Bambino FAC00009N0 use?

Orient calibre F6724, not F6722. It is automatic, it can be hand-wound, and the seconds hand hacks when you set the time. Power reserve is about 40 hours. It is not quartz.

Is the FAC00009N0 dial white or cream?

Cream. In the photos it is a warm ivory, clearly different from the white dials on FAC00008W0, FAC00005W0, and FAC00009W0. The hands are blue. The even-hour markers are Roman numerals. The odd hours are stick indexes.

What size is the FAC00009N0 case?

40.5 mm in diameter and 11.8 mm thick, with a 21 mm lug width. That is the Version 2 case, not the larger later Bambinos. The 46.8 mm lug-to-lug stored on this product came from a different reference, so it is omitted. The 22 mm band-width field also disagrees with the lug width and with retailer sheets, so it is not used here.

Can I swim with the FAC00009N0?

No. Thirty metres is a splash rating. Rain and handwashing are the sensible limit. Leave it off for swimming and showering, and push the crown fully in before it gets wet.

Is the strap black, brown, or silver?

The photos on this page, including the case back, show a black crocodile-pattern leather strap and an Orient buckle. The lining is a light colour and reads genuine leather. Some catalogue listings call the strap brown. The colour filter on this product still says Silver. The description follows the photos, not that filter.
