The Orient Bambino SAC00009N0 is the ivory Roman dress automatic: cream dial, blue hands, Roman numerals on the even hours, and a date at 3. The front photos show a dark brown crocodile-pattern leather strap on a polished stainless steel case. It is the export code for that cream Roman face, not the white stick-index SAC00005W0, and not a current RA- reference.
The even hours are XII, II, IIII, VI, VIII, and X. The 4 is IIII, not IV. The odd hours are simple stick indexes. A railroad minute track carries numerals at the five-minute marks. The hands in the front photos are blue. That is the face people mean when they ask for the cream Bambino with blue hands.
What you actually get
- Ivory / cream dial, blue hands, Roman numerals on even hours, stick indexes on odd hours
- Date window at 3
- Orient in-house automatic calibre F6724 on the sheets for this cream Roman reference: hand-winding, hacking seconds, 22 jewels, about 40 hours, date only
- Accuracy on the Japanese sheet for SAC00009N0: about +25 to -15 seconds a day
- Polished stainless steel case, domed mineral crystal, solid screw case back
- Pull-out crown at 3
- Dark brown crocodile-pattern leather and an Orient pin buckle on the front and case-back frames
- Water resistance 30 m / 3 bar: rain and handwashing, not swimming
One specification field on this page still lists calibre F6T22. That is the open-heart calibre, and this dial has no open heart. The movement in this watch is F6724, the date automatic used on the cream Roman Bambino (the related codes are FAC00009N0 and AC00009N). Neel’s sheet for SAC00009N0 lists hand-winding and a hacking seconds hand, which matches F6724 and does not match an open-heart calibre.
Neel lists the case as 45 × 40.5 mm with a 21 mm calf strap and a cream-yellow dial. ANA’s sheet for the same code is more explicit: about 46.5 × 40.5 × 11.6 mm, 21 mm between the lugs, and about 58 g. The case-size field on this page already says 40.5 mm, and the band-width field already says 21 mm. This page does not collapse the 45 mm and 46.5 mm length figures into one number.
Read the photos before the old feature table
The old import table called the strap colour ivory and the crystal simply “glass”. The front frames are a cream dial on dark brown leather, not an ivory strap. The crystal is the usual Bambino dome. Neel’s word for it is crystal glass, which in that catalogue means mineral crystal, not sapphire.
Two wordings appear in this gallery. The straight-on frames print Water Resist above 6. The close-up frame prints Water Resistant, and the strap crop in that frame looks darker than the brown strap on the front and case-back shots. Neel notes that current production of this reference changed the 6 o’clock line from Water Resist to Water Resistant. Treat the close-up as a later printing, not as proof that the strap on the front views is black.
The case back is solid. You cannot see the rotor. The rim of the case-back photo includes a Made in Japan line. This is an earlier Bambino reference, not a current RA- model. The case back of the unit supplied shows where that unit was made. The engraved calibre on that frame is not sharp enough to quote.
How it wears
40.5 mm is the standard Bambino dress diameter. The blue hands are the reason this colourway gets asked for by name: they read clearly against the cream dial without turning the watch into a sports piece. The crocodile texture on the brown strap is in the photos, with a light lining and an Orient buckle.
Keep it dry beyond splashes. Thirty metres does not mean a pool watch. The crown pulls out. It does not screw down. Hand-winding is useful if the watch sits between wears. A roughly 40-hour reserve will run down over a long weekend, and you will set the time again. That is how this calibre behaves.
Which Bambino this is
SAC00009N0 is the ivory Roman export code. It is not the white stick-index SAC00005W0, and it is not an open-heart Bambino. If you want applied batons and silver hands, use the white SAC00005W0 page. For the version map, see the Orient Bambino buying guide and the Orient classic watches category.
Questions buyers ask
What movement is in the Orient Bambino SAC00009N0?
Neel’s sheet for this reference lists an automatic with hand-winding, a hacking seconds hand, a date, about 40 hours of power reserve, and accuracy of about +25 to -15 seconds a day. That is Orient calibre F6724, 22 jewels, the same date automatic cited for the cream Roman FAC00009N0 / AC00009N. It is not the open-heart calibre F6T22 that still appears in one specification field.
Is the SAC00009N0 dial ivory, and are the numerals Roman?
Yes. The front photos are a cream / ivory dial with blue hands. Roman numerals sit on the even hours, including IIII at 4 rather than IV. Stick indexes sit on the odd hours. A date window is at 3. Neel calls the dial colour cream yellow.
What strap does the SAC00009N0 use?
The front and case-back photos show dark brown crocodile-pattern leather with a light lining and an Orient pin buckle. The store band-colour field already says Brown. An old import line that called the strap ivory was describing the dial, not the leather. One close-up crop looks darker. Do not order a black strap from that frame alone.
How big is the SAC00009N0?
Diameter is 40.5 mm on both the store field and the retailer sheets. Neel lists the case as 45 × 40.5 mm. ANA lists about 46.5 mm lug-to-lug, 11.6 mm thick, 21 mm lug width, and about 58 g. The 21 mm lug width matches the store band-width field. This page does not merge the two length figures.
Can you swim with the SAC00009N0?
No. Water resistance is 30 m / 3 bar. That covers rain and handwashing, not the pool or the shower. The crown is a pull-out crown.
Why do some photos say Water Resist and others Water Resistant?
The straight-on frames in this gallery print Water Resist. The close-up prints Water Resistant. Neel says current production of SAC00009N0 changed the 6 o’clock line to Water Resistant. Both printings exist for this reference. The close-up is not a different model.
