Orient Bambino RA-AC0039Y30B Ivory Arabic Dial Automatic Dress Watch

A$420.00

Availability: In Stock

The Orient Bambino RA-AC0039Y30B is the ivory dial in the same Arabic-numeral set as the blue RA-AC0036L30B. The case is 40.5 mm. The face is a warm ivory, closer to cream than to stark white, with blue hands and Eastern Arabic numerals. It is not a Roman-numeral Bambino, and it is not the white Arabic RA-AC0038S30B, which uses rose-gold-tone hands.

Orient USA lists this reference as the Version 2 Arabic Index and describes the dial as beige with blue hands. On the watch itself the colour reads as ivory. Use the listing photos, not a colour name from a dropdown, if you are choosing between this and the white Arabic sibling.

What the ivory dial actually shows

Eastern Arabic numerals mark the hours. There is no Western 1-2-3 and no stick-index set. The date window at 3 replaces the 3 numeral. It is a pale window with a black date, close in tone to the dial so it does not punch a white hole in the face.

Hands are blue, including a blue seconds hand. That is the easy way to tell this reference from the blue-dial RA-AC0036L30B, which has silver-tone hands, and from the white Arabic RA-AC0038S30B, which has rose-gold-tone hands. Dial text reads ORIENT, Automatic, and Water Resistant. A small Orient crest sits over the logo.

The strap in the front and angle photos is dark brown crocodile-grain leather with light contrast stitching and a pin buckle. Orient’s sheet lists a brown leather strap at 21 mm. There is no conflicting strap colour in this gallery.

How it wears

This is the larger classic Bambino case, not the 38.4 mm compact models. Lug-to-lug is 46.5 mm, so it still clears a cuff on most wrists. The domed crystal adds a little visual height over the 12.3 mm case measurement. It is a dress watch you can wear every day if you keep it off the pool deck.

The ivory dial is quieter in the office than the sunburst blue sibling, and the blue hands keep it from looking like a plain cream dress watch. Wind it by hand if it has stopped. Hacking stops the seconds hand when the crown is fully out. Do not set the date between about 8 pm and 4 am.

Thirty metres covers rain and a rinsed hand. It does not cover swimming or the shower.

Questions buyers ask

What colour is the Orient Bambino RA-AC0039Y30B dial?

Ivory, a warm cream rather than stark white, with blue hands and Eastern Arabic numerals. Some retailer sheets call the same dial beige. It is not the white Arabic RA-AC0038S30B, and it is not a black or Roman-numeral dial.

Are the numerals Western or Eastern Arabic?

Eastern Arabic. You will not see 1, 2, 3 around this dial. The date window at 3 takes the place of the 3 numeral.

What movement does the RA-AC0039Y30B use?

Orient calibre F6724. Automatic, with hand-winding and hacking, 22 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour, and about 40 hours of power reserve. It is the same calibre as the other current 40.5 mm Arabic Bambinos.

What size is the RA-AC0039Y30B?

40.5 mm across, 12.3 mm thick, 46.5 mm lug-to-lug, and 21 mm between the lugs. That matches the blue and white Arabic siblings in this set.

Is 30 metres water resistance enough?

For rain and handwashing, yes. For swimming, showering, or diving, no. This is a dress watch with a 3 bar rating.

Where was the RA-AC0039Y30B finished?

Current production is marked Made in Thailand. Orient is a Japanese brand. An older stamp in a catalogue photo is not the watch we send.
