The Orient Helios RA-AG0027Y10B is the burgundy open-heart dress watch on a steel bracelet, not a leather Bambino and not a chronograph. The store SKU stays RA-AG0027Y10B. Orient USA sells the same watch as RA-AG0027Y30B. If you searched the shorter code RA-AG0027Y, this is that reference.

The dial in these photos is a burgundy-brown gradient: darker through the top half, warmer toward 6. It is not a flat red, and it is not the grey Helios. Silver-tone Roman numerals sit at 12 and 6 only. The other hours are silver sticks. The hands are silver. An open heart at 9 shows the balance. There is no date window and no day disc. The dial reads Orient, Automatic, and Water Resistant.

It is a steel watch for a desk or a jacket, not a diver. The bracelet is stainless steel with a fold-over clasp. The crown is a pull-out crown at 3, with no guards.

Movement and case

Orient’s Japan sheet lists calibre F6T22, automatic and hand-winding, 22 jewels, a see-through case back, and 30 metres of water resistance. Orient USA describes the same calibre with hacking and a power reserve of about 40 hours. Some shop pages print the code as FT622. That is a shortened label. The calibre to use is F6T22. It is not F6724, and this is not a chronograph.

The case is 40.5 mm wide and 46.5 mm lug-to-lug, with 21 mm lugs. Orient’s Japan sheet does not publish a thickness, and retailer sheets do not agree, so this page does not lock one thickness figure. The front crystal is domed mineral. Orient calls it boxed crystal glass. It is not sapphire.

This is an earlier Helios, and it is not a numbered limited edition. It is a Japanese brand. The case back of the unit supplied shows where that unit was made. One frame in this gallery is named for RA-AG0026E, so that frame is not used here as proof of the engraving on an RA-AG0027Y. Dial photos can also carry an older movement line. That line is not a claim about where the case was finished.

Questions buyers ask

What movement does the Orient Helios RA-AG0027Y10B use?

Calibre F6T22. It is automatic, it can be hand-wound, and Orient USA lists a hacking seconds hand and about 40 hours of power reserve. It has 22 jewels. Do not use the shortened FT622 label, and do not substitute F6724. F6724 is a different Bambino calibre.

Is the RA-AG0027Y10B a Bambino Version 4?

No. Older copy on this page called it a Bambino IV open heart. Orient files it as a Helios semi-skeleton in the Classic and Simple Style line. The leather Bambino versions are a different case and a different calibre. The grey sibling is RA-AG0029N10B, not this burgundy reference.

What colour is the dial?

A burgundy-brown gradient. Orient USA’s technical block says red, and the same USA page also says brown. The photos here are the gradient, darker at the top and warmer toward 6.

Does the RA-AG0027Y10B have a date?

No. The photos show Roman numerals at 12 and 6, sticks on the other hours, and an open heart at 9. There is no date window and no day disc.

Is the crystal sapphire, and is this a chronograph?

Neither. The front glass is domed mineral crystal. There are no chronograph pushers. A retailer sheet that lists this reference as a chronograph, or as 41 mm with a 22 mm lug, does not match Orient’s sheet or these photos.

What size is the case?

40.5 mm wide and 46.5 mm from lug to lug, with 21 mm lugs. Orient’s Japan catalogue does not list a thickness. Because other sheets disagree, this page does not publish one. The lug width used here is 21 mm, which matches the product’s lug-width field and Orient USA.

Where does the case back say this Helios was made?

It is a Japanese brand, from the earlier Helios run. The case back of the unit supplied shows where that unit was made. A case-back file in this gallery is named for RA-AG0026E, so it is not treated as this unit’s engraving. A line printed on the dial is not used here as a country of manufacture.
