Seiko accumulated the best (and also some of the ordinary) aspects of the old Alpinist and upped them to Prospex standards. There’s some reworking of the sapphire crystal and it has been given a date magnifier. There’s an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface of the sapphire crystal; also on the case back.
